New York homes have every kind of window: double-hung and casement, sliding and picture windows, bay windows, French doors, transoms and storm windows. The estimate form lets you pick the types you have and give an approximate count. Together with the number of floors and how the glass can be reached, that's what your quote is based on.
Apartments, condos and co-ops
Most apartment buildings have rules for contractors. Many ask for a Certificate of Insurance before anyone starts work. Some also want the building named as additional insured, and some need the visit booked through the super or the management office, with the service elevator reserved.

Townhouses, brownstones and houses
A brownstone or townhouse has windows on every floor, front and back, from the garden level to the top floor, and the parlor floor often has the tallest glass in the house. Detached and semi-detached houses in Queens, the Bronx and on Staten Island bring their own mix: storm windows, bay windows, sliding doors onto the deck. When we assess the job, we look at how each window is reached, and the quote reflects it.

How often to clean your windows
Most homes are cleaned twice a year, in spring and fall. The spring visit takes off what winter left on the glass; the fall visit clears the summer's dust and pollen before the days get short. A home on a busy avenue or next to a construction site may need more frequent visits, and we'll recommend a schedule that fits.
